UPI Launches Credible Messengers Training

Urban Peace Institute launched the first Credible Messengers training this week to support the Department of Youth Development's new pilot program. Over the next three weeks, 15 participants from Anti-Recidivism Coalition and Healing Dialogue and Action will be trained on topics such as youth development, transformative mentorship, restorative practices, and more.

Credible Messengers will support youth at Campus Kilpatrick and Barry J. Nidorf to promote healing, restoration, and an alternative presence of care inside secure facilities. As highly trained, community-entrusted changemakers, Credible Messengers are a pivotal step toward realizing Youth Justice Reimagined and ending Probation's ongoing harm and trauma to LA County youth.
