Summer Night Lights Wraps for the Season

Urban Peace Institute is celebrating the community intervention workers and agencies who helped carry out the LA Mayor’s Summer Night Lights (SNL) program to ensure safety and provide positive programming and community engagement at parks across Los Angeles. Peacemakers and communities prevailed in implementing a largely successful summer program to deescalate violence and keep their neighborhoods safe.

Community intervention workers faced significant challenges this summer while working to create peace. We applaud the dedication of all peacemakers who worked to ensure safety during   Summer Night Lights this season. Urban Peace Institute and our partners will continue to advocate for expanded funding, training and support for community safety efforts in the summer months.
