Harvard Park Walks for Safe Streets

Urban Peace Institute hosted three Harvard Park for Safer Streets walks in August! As part of our Regional School Safety Collaborative, we partnered with Chapter Two and Strong Shoulders to engage the Harvard Park community to advocate for traffic safety awareness, particularly in school zones.

In Harvard Park, residents have reported many incidents of reckless driving including speeding in residential zones, illegal U-turns in school zones, and not stopping for crossing guards. These incidents too often make simple, daily occurrences like walking to school or the grocery store a life or death matter. We are grateful for support from Southern California Association of Government's Go Human mini grant program for making this project possible!
